For the Cologne magazine Stadtrevue, I was invited to photograph the cover story on Jazzweek in September 2021. The focus was on artists from Cologne’s diverse music scene.

What drew me in was the combination of analog material and living, breathing music. Polaroids have a very distinct visual character. They feel immediate and honest, with a certain unpredictability. That quality felt like a natural fit for music shaped by spontaneity, improvisation and personal expression. I met with several Cologne musicians and portrayed them on Polaroid film.
